Acadian Coast Bicycle Touring Route - Self-Guided
The Acadian Coast Bicycle Touring Route is a unique bicycle tour developed by Cycle Canada, The Veloforce Corporation. Bicycle Touring Route Packages have been developed for cyclists who wish to travel self-supported and wish to explore less travelled regions of Canada.
Our recommended route for Acadian Coast travels from Bathurst, New Brunswick to Moncton, New Brunswick.
On this tour, cyclists travel through the Acadian region of New Brunswick, Canada. New Brunswick is officialy bilingual and this is an area where cultures have deep roots. French Acadians and English that came mainly from Celtic cultures have co-existed in this area from the early times of European settlement. For centuries, Mi'kMaq Indians have fished the rivers and coastal waters of what is now known as the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
The terrain on this trip is flat to gently rolling and the ocean is always nearby. Our route follows the sheltered shores Baie Chaleur (Warm Bay) and Northumberland Strait. The region is well known for its seafood, blueberries and we encourage travellers to explore attractions and sample local delicacies along the way.
