The Harvest Ride - The Ottawa Valley 2008
The Harvest Ride - Ottawa Valley, is a one week loop from the national capital that goes up the Ottawa River on the Ontario side to a historic lumber trade district and then through Quebec's Gatineau Hills.
We'll be riding along the Ottawa River in two Canadian provinces. We then head into the Gatineau Hills, a cottage district where Canadian prime ministers have an official summer residence.
We encourage participants to stay an extra day at the beginning or end of their ride. There's lots to see in Ottawa and Gatineau. The area is very bike-friendly and most attractions, such as the Parliament Buildings, the lively open-air Byward Market, Museums and Galleries are close to the city centres.
Accommodation is indoors with double occupancy. Contact us for information on single supplements or we will try to match you up with a rid
er of the same gender.
Breakfasts are provided by local hosts or in local restaurants. We'll make suggestions for dinnner at locations near where you stay.
We provide one dinner mid-week or on the final night. Admission to Maison Bryson, an historic farm house chronicalling life in the lumbering community of Fort Colounge, is also included in the fee.
