Original frame before work

You never know what treasures you will find in Canadian basements.

The steel structure above was tucked away in an Ottawa basement for over 30 years. During that time efforts were made to strip it down and make it rideable again. The bike is a hand-built English touring bike. Around 1955 it was used for one season to tour England. There was no further information available on its provenance.

In 1996 the frame received a new lease on life.

This photo album shows how one cyclist chose to transform this neglected frame into a classic bike. This restoration shows off the superior craftsmanship of the frame and uses components that retain, as much as possible, the look of a bike of that era.
