Cycle Canada's 2011 Events and Activities

We are pleased to share photographs and a few stories from the 2011 season of CycleCanada and Tour du Canada cycling events. For links to all of our events please visit: www.CycleCanada.com/All.html

Tour Vert

In 2011 we launched a new ride that was instantly popular. Tour Vert - Montreal to Quebec City via the Eastern Townships. On Tour Vert we have a chance to explore two fabulous and historic Canadian cities, Montreal and Quebec City. The cycling between these two cities is on quiet country roads and bike paths. This tour has some hills but we have reduced the daily distances to make it a comfortable experience for an average touring cyclist. Overnight stays are in historic towns with a gourmet dinner group dinner on the night before we arrive in Quebec City. And as with all our tours, new and old friends celebrate their ride at a reception on the final night.

Here are review comments from a 2011 Tour Vert cyclists.
". . . truly enjoyed the Tour Vert. fantastic room in quebec city. i can't say enough great things about spencer. what a wonderful young man! "

" My "Tour Vert 2011" ride was a fabulous experience! Spencer Finnie was a fantastic support person. He did his job extemely well. He is a well-mannered, kind and mature person. Every tour should have a Spencer, as a support person, to make it a fabulous journey!!! D. B. PS. Also, thanks to all who have made this ride possible."

The By-Cycle Ride

The By-Cycle Ride

The By-Cycle Ride is a ride that all Canadians must do at least once. And Canadians welcome their neighbours in this celebration - we'll make sure you are dressed for the occasion in Ottawa! The route for the By-Cycle Ride is flat to gently rolling and we enjoy overnight stays in historic towns such as Merrickville, Kingston and Cobourg. It's a splashy ending on July 1 in Ottawa to celebrate Canada Day.

"Finishing our ride with fire works on Parliament Hill was very good" A.H.

"My wife, Anne, and I had a terrific experience on the Toronto to Ottawa trip last week and have recommended it to several of our biking friends here in Indiana. Spencer was a superb support driver and host and I would not change a thing about the trip. I especially appreciated all the personal touches afforded a small group of riders unlike what we have experienced with other supported rides hosting hundreds of riders. This trip was superb and we will be coming back for future rides. Thanks again for everything!! Sincerely, Rick"

"I just wanted to drop a line and let you know that I enjoyed the tour from Toronto to Ottawa. Spencer was a great addition to your team. His laid-back style and dry sense of humour were great assets. . . . Thanks again and I will definitely do another tour with Cycle Canada. " C.P.
