The Nazrey A.M.E. Church is part of the Centre. The church was built in 1848 by former slaves and it served as a "station" on the Underground Railroad

On the first day's ride we travel through Amherstburg, which was one of the largest terminals on the Underground Railroad to Canada. The Black community in this town dates back to 1796,

The American Black Historical Museum and Cultural Centre was built to preserve Black history and promote community and cultural activities.

Meals are prepared and eaten outdoors. We take advantage of fresh produce, keeping in mind the demands of the daily schedule of 90 kilometres (60 miles) of riding. Our menus are simple and nourishing, with a variety of pasta, rice, potatos, poultry, meat and vegetarian fare.

An example of one dinner menu was pasta with fresh tomato sauce made from local Leamington tomatoes, green salad, shortcakes with Niagara peaches and fresh whipped cream.
