Cycle Canada's Scotia Bays Bicycle Touring Route - Self-Guided
Cycle Canada's Scotia Bays Touring Route is a one-week cycling vacation where cyclists travel along the Bay of Fundy and the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
Riders travel from Yarmouth to Halifax. On this tour you will visit old French settlements, the staunchly British Annapolis Valley and the "foreign Protestant" villages around Bridgewater and Lunenburg.
We travel from west to east along the shores of Nova Scotia where the prevailing winds are out of the west. The terrain is gentle except that mid-trip we cross overland and there are hilly portions.
Our route is through an old settled part of the country. Along the coasts it's usually not that far between places to find munchies. But population is sparse on the day we cross overland.
The photos used in our Scotia Bays information page were taken by Alan Medcalf in 2004 when he rode Cycle Canada's Scotia Bays Tour.
