In 1999 two groups set out at the end of June to ride coast to coast.

Each group is independant, with a support vehicle, galley kitchen.

On rest days the two groups meet up to compare notes on wind conditions, recipes and the quality of baked goods across the country.

The combined age range of the 1999 Tour du Canada is 14 to 64. Riders come from across Canada,the U.S., the Netherlands and Japan
