![]() The second "boucle", or loop, took us on a gradual climb up Covey Hill. Covey Hill is the last elevation of the Adirondacks and has spectacular views of the St-Lawrence Valley. We then had a screamer of a hill down into Havelock where we were greeted by the town's Mayor. Her Honour the Mayor is keeping a personal account of the fastest speeds on the descent into the Town. As well, she is making a note of all those who braked. |
![]() And the catch of the day came in weighing five kilos. So now we are busy making apple butter from the fabulous Macintoshes grown in the region. |

Our overnight stays were in an Auberge on the outskirts of Huntingdon. Owned by Marcus Ritter, L'Heritage is a converted grand farm house that was built in 1846. Marcus is an enterprising 25 year old who came to Canada from Austria three years ago to find an Inn to run. He converted the house into a six bedroom Auberge, restaurant and bar. The lovely yard is a popular spot for weddings and other events. |
| Bud Jorgensen and I are organizers of cycletouring events. You'll find information on us and our events (Tour du Canada and others) on the Cycle Canada Directory. There you will also find a link to Cyclopomme. Cyclopomme is organized
by the Municipal Region of Haut St.-Laurent. Bud and I rode 100 kilometres on this day. Of approximately 700 cyclists participating we were the last but three to complete the ride. The weather was perfect and our hosts gracious and helpful. The event was organized by a very involved community that clearly enjoyed themselves as much as the cyclists. You'll find some other of our photo albums at: Cycle Canada Photo Album Directory. Thanks for visiting....we hope to see you on the road. Margot Jorgensen, September 16, 1998 |
