Bike inspection starts at 7:30 am, half an hour before the ride begins. |
Before an event the ride coordinator will inspect each particpant's bicycle to ensure it complies with the standards established by the club's governing body the Brevets Randonneurs Mondiaux. Each rider will receive a route sheet and control card. Riders don't use maps, they follow written directions that indicate left or right turns and/or East/West and the distance from point to point. You'll find a sample route sheet at the end of this album. The control card is used to note start times and compliance with equipment standards. |
![]() The first randonneur events were staged in Paris in 1921.
