All types of bikes are allowed on Randonneur events. You will see singles,tandems, recumbents, triples, and tricycles. But all bicycles must be equipped in the same manner and according to very specific standards. This includes a reliable lighting system, red rear reflectors and white reflectors on the front. Maple leafs are optional.

Control points are marked on the route sheet but not secret control points.
Secret control points may be located where riders can take a different route because they misread the route instructions.
